Social Studies Alive! America’s Past covers American history from
the first migrations into the Americas through the 20th century.
Students interact with the personalities, places, and events that
structured our nation, becoming keen observers of and informed
participants in US history. Geography is also an essential part of
this class.
Grade: 6 | Ancient Civilizations
Prerequisite: None
History Alive! The Ancient World introduces students to the
beginnings of the human story. As they explore the great early
civilizations of Egypt and the Near East, India, China, Greece, and
Rome, students discover the secrets of these ancient cultures that
continue to influence the modern world.
Grade: 7 | Texas History
Prerequisite: None
In 7th-grade Texas History, students study the historical,
geographic, political, religious, and economic ideas and events that
shaped Texas.
Our Honors Texas History courses offer increased depth, independent
study, and writing opportunities. The honors course prepares
students for 8th-grade honors and high school AP courses. Students
qualify for Honors Texas History through an internal rubric and must
be concurrently enrolled in 7th-grade ELA Honors.
Grade: 8 | US History
Prerequisite: None
In 8th grade, US History students study the historical, geographic,
political, religious, and economic ideas and events that shaped the
United States from the colonial period to Reconstruction.
Our Honors US History course offers more opportunities for increased
depth, independent study, and writing. The course aims to prepare
students for high school AP courses. Students qualify for Honors
Texas History through an internal rubric and must be concurrently
enrolled in 8th-grade ELA Honors.
