TWMS Accomplishments: 2025–2026 Year in Review

IOWA National Standardized Testing

What's Important
A consistent, challenging academic foundation is the bedrock of future success. We focus on ensuring students don't just learn, but truly master core concepts year after year, building a powerful base of knowledge.

Why It Matters
These results demonstrate the power of our cohesive K–8 curriculum. By 8th grade, students have the deep understanding and academic confidence to excel in rigorous high school programs. These results reflect the dedication of our students, the commitment of our teachers, and God's faithfulness as we partner with families.

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)

What's Important
True learning happens when students move beyond the textbook. We use STEAM time to spark curiosity, strengthen critical thinking, and encourage collaboration through problem-solving challenges and engineering projects.

Why It Matters
By engaging in hands-on innovation—from coding logic to delicious chemistry—students develop the tenacity and analytical skills needed to navigate a future-focused world.

Proof: Results

  • The Egg Drop Challenge: Students designed and tested gravity-defying contraptions, learning essential lessons in physics and structural design.
  • Scoops of Science: Students explored chemical and physical changes by observing states of matter shift while making their own ice cream.
  • Math Escape Room Challenges: Teams used teamwork and sharp logic to solve complex puzzles and codes.
  • Coding & Tech Creation: Students mastered computational thinking, including sequencing, loops, and debugging.
  • Digital Citizenship: Students learned to navigate the online community safely, kindly, and securely.
  • Innovation Resources: TWMS was awarded a grant from the Montgomery County Community Foundation for a Mobile STEAM Cart, providing advanced tools for future-focused education.

Competition

What's Important
Confidence is built through courage. We provide platforms for students to showcase talents and test skills at local and national levels, fostering poise and self-assurance.

Why It Matters
These achievements form the building blocks of confident leaders. TWMS graduates finish articulate, creative, and ready to share their voice with the world.

Proof: Scripps Spelling Bee, Art Awards, and Academic Enrichment

  • Scripps Spelling Bee: Henry Harris was named the 2025–2026 Champion, and Julia Gondorchin was the runner-up.
  • ACSI Competitions: Over 200 students participated in Math Olympics and the Voices of Tomorrow Speech Meet, which challenge students toward God-honoring applications of their leadership and academic skills.
  • Art Awards: Students participated in Rodeo Art, with opportunities to display work in the Hayloft Gallery. Julia Gondorchin was named a staff favorite winner in the Conflict Resolution Bookmark competition.

Extracurricular Athletics

What's Important
The fields and courts are classrooms for character. Athletics programs at TWMS teach discipline, teamwork, and leadership.

Why It Matters
Athletes develop not only on the court, course, and track, but also in the classroom and as individuals of character. They learn resilience and the importance of encouraging one another through both success and adversity.

Proof: Athletic Achievements

  • Cross Country: The team delivered an outstanding season, earning 30 individual medals, two championship titles, and a second-place finish. Notably, every member of the team earned a medal this season.
  • Golf: The girls' team earned four individual championships and crowned an individual District Champion. The boys' team earned four second-place trophies and an individual District Champion title.
  • Track & Field: Athletes captured several Conference Championships in individual events and numerous top-three finishes.
  • Character Awards: The Eagle Award and Purpose Award were presented to student-athletes who best represented the school's core values and Christian mission.

Extracurricular Arts

What's Important
Choir, drama, and band students use God-given talents to bless others, witnessing firsthand how their gifts bring peace and joy.

Why It Matters
The arts teach courage, creativity, and service. Each note and performance shines the Lord's light, offering comfort and connection.

Proof: Choir, Drama, and Band
